New Year Resolution Again? Nope…

December 30, 2009 mreez Leave a comment

Every year I draw up New Year resolutions for me to achieve but every single time it’s the same old thing. The New Year resolution is not achieved and kept aside. Basically I can say that most new resolution are just postponing of the resolution set the year before, though for my case this year I did achieved something in term of my resolution set a couple of years before which was to lose weight. Eventually I did lose 20KG this year give or take throughout the year and plan to lose the rest of the 15KG next year. So to me basically new resolution is just a goal set by people to do something they plan to do regardless if they want to make it happen or not. If it does not happen it’s postponed to the following year. Hence the explanation that New Year Resolution is just a postponement of previous resolution. It’s up to the person making the resolution to make it all happen. I finally did for just one of my many resolutions.

So if one plan to make a New Year resolution, make one that you plan to accomplish in the year. Mine for this year is to lose the rest of the 15KG, get married, be healthy physically, emotionally and spiritually, take my SAP exams (which has been 3 years now) and well to excel in what I do and do a good job at it. Hopefully I can accomplish all this goals next year. So basically for me, this year new resolution is the same as before except for a few additions that will have to take place.

Here’s some forecast for me, (I’m Cancer by the way) seems interesting though. Now much of a follower of horoscope and astrology prediction, but well it doesn’t hurt to read it though.

Love Horoscope & Astrology
Cancer 2010 yearly horoscope could be a special year for all Cancer people. The New Year could bring you very good news with special occasions helping you to enjoy the very essence of life. Because of the favorable confluence of Mars and Venus, people who are born under this sign could show signs of hyperactivity and energy. These people may make an effort to mix with different people and make friendship with at least some of them. Self-confidence will come back to them thus making them overtly ambitious and goal driven. Indastro
2010 brings positive trends for you. Life will empower you more and you will find yourself more assertive than in previous years. However there is a tendency to be over aggressive and difficult for people around you in the first half of the year. The year will begin with an aggressive state of mind as well as proneness to anger and unnecessary fights. Period between 1st January 2010 to 10th March 2010 could be very volatile. Try to work on avoiding conflicts and losing your temper. (Taken from Indastro)

Sierra Residency Site Visit 2

December 25, 2009 mreez Leave a comment

Today I went to apartment to see the latest progress of its construction and from the looks of things the construction is at full swing and even the external walls and guard house is now visible. Couldn’t get an inside access to my unit but I guess that will only happen once the key is handed over.

Before the visit I got a written mail that Sierramal have appointed an official realtor to do the proceeding for selling or renting of Sierra Residency units at the best possible market price. Thinking of calling to see whether its a good thing to either rent my unit or selling my unit based on the market price set by their expert research.

Losing Weight – The Hard Way Part Two

December 15, 2009 mreez Leave a comment

There comes a time where you’ll feel that working out is pointless or that a few eating spree won’t hurt your weight. To me losing weight is like an up and down trend where when you reach a certain point, you’ll start to lay back and relax a little. Well that exactly what happened to me. Early November I was around 95KG so I started to cut down on the exercises, start eating again and well pretty much let myself loose. By the end of November I was back to 103KG! That’s an 8KG gain in a space of a month. So before I reach 105KG I set myself and psych myself to lose weight again. And now well I’m back to 99KG and I’m not going to stop until I reach my ideal weight of 85KG.

So for those who think that you already lose so much weight, and it might be okay to give yourself a break, yes you can but you have to monitor and control your eating throughout. I didn’t do that, that’s why I gained 8KG. But since then I’m back to my diet and working out regime and I’m now back on track losing steadily as I go. Here’s hoping I can lose somewhere around 95KG by end of this month or maybe next month. So people keep in mind that losing weight takes forever but gaining weight can just takes a day.

Sierra Residency Site Visit

December 12, 2009 mreez Leave a comment

Went over to the Sierra Residency to see the progress this afternoon, I have to say the place is looking good. Tower 2 where my unit is located is now fully painted. Some of the top floors even have windows installed. I still don’t think the developer can finish up by end of this month. But it’s looking good for either February of even January if they keep up what they are doing.

They are now clearing up the surrounding area of the construction site and I even saw a glimpse of the swimming pool. And of course I already see signs of realtors advertising for units that is available for renting and selling. Wonder if they can find a tennant or even a buyer for me? Anyways next time I drop by Sierra Residency, I would love to be able to see my unit on the inside for a change.

Friendster Acquired By MOL

December 11, 2009 mreez Leave a comment

When it was announced that Friendster, the pioneer social networking site is in talk for a possible acquiring by an asian based company, my first thought was that it may be the huge company based in powerhouse Taiwan, Japan or even China. I totally underestimated that it was a Malaysian based company that purchased Friendster of around US$1 million dollars. Friendster was acquired by MOL Global yesterday Dec 9.

Sierra Residency @ Bandar Kinrara

December 9, 2009 mreez Leave a comment

I bought this apartment way back in 2006 back when I just landed my first stable high paid salary job. The ‘Modern Apartment’ of Sierra Residency by Sierramal enticed me with the modern contemporary design of the apartment and not to mention its reasonable price. Now almost four years later the apartment is almost ready. To tell you the truth, I wasn’t really into buying the property, and I just happened to be there for the soft launch. But once I’m there me and mom who was with me at that time was so into the property that I got a unit for myself there and then after paying the deposit for the unit. So thus I got myself my first owned property. Now the only question is should I sell it or rent it?

Here’s a bit info on my unit. It’s a freehold Apartment in Bandar Kinrara, Puchong. I bought a third floor apartment in tower 2 that comes with 2 basement parking bays. It’s about 1008 sqft and the view should be nice since its the one facing the swimming pool. It has three bedrooms, two bathrooms and what I like about the layout is the walking wardrobe concept in the master bedroom. However the kitchen is a bit small but I guess the wash area can be converted into a wet kitchen for those who does heavy cooking. All and all I like the apartment and it’s a good place to start for those who are single or just got married. I bought the unit in 2006 at RM157,000 but now according to the latest research done by realtors, my unit could fetch up to a minimum of RM220,000 and above. And the rental fee can reach a good figure due to its strategic location, facilities and infrastructures nearby. Sierra Residency is located in range of Subang Jaya, Sunway, Bukit Jalil and all the major highways like LDP and KESAS. So in other words it’s nearby major shopping malls and shops like IoI Mall, Subang Parade, The Summit, Tesco Puchong, Giant Puchong, Mydin USJ, Carrefour Subang, Giant USJ and Sunway Pyramid.

1. Childcare centre
2. Wading pool
3. Swimming pool
4. Gymnasium
5. Multi-purpose hall
6. Guard house

Basic facility the apartment provides are swimming pool, wading pool, gymnasium, multi-purpose hall, landscaped garden with gazebos & pavilions, children’s playground, B-B-Q pit, childcare centre and home security system. It’s also nearby various schools, Giant Hypermart in Bandar Kirara and not to mention the currently work in progress district police HQ nearby gives the added protection the area needs. And in 2012 if all goes well the extended LRT line from Ampang connecting to the Kelana Jaya LRT will pass by the area and a station, designated STN04 is proposed nearby Giant. So from the looks of things it’s a good strategic place to live with all the needs and necessity all nearby and in driving distance. Now as mentioned before should I sell it or rent it? Anyone out there interested in renting it when it’s ready? Lol

More details of the progress of Sierra Residency can be followed through this blog site: Sierra Residency @ Bandar Kinrara Blogsite.

Maybank Marketchat 09

December 6, 2009 mreez Leave a comment

Well as mentioned in my previous post, there will be a talk by Maybank Investment called Maybank Investment Marketchat 09 to be held in January 09 2010 in the Securities Commission in KL. Admission is of course free.  Since I already learn a few things from the talks I went yesterday, I’m guessing this talk will be somewhat similar with some other extra useful tips and will be as informative as the one I went yesterday. But just as much, I can’t wait to go for this talk as well. Breakdown of the talks as follows:

The Market Chat 2009 Roadshow will be conducted in a “talk show” format to enable better audience participation. The areas that will be covered in this seminar will be:

  • The global financial and economic outlook
  • Market strategies
  • Stock recommendations
  • Commodity and currency trends
  • Leveraged products
  • How to make ETF (Exchange-traded funds) part of your portfolio
  • Tools to help make you more investment-savvy

Affinbank Marketchat 09

December 6, 2009 mreez Leave a comment

I went to my first share trading, investment related talks yesterday that my friend suggested I to go to. We went to the Marketchat 09 by Bursa and Affin to get a broader knowledge. It was held in Royale Bintang at the Curve from 8.30 am to 1.30 pm. The Marketchat 09 is free and I have to say is very informative. Here’s a breakdown of the details of what was talked about.

· What is happening in the global markets, and how it is affecting us?
· What will be the market outlook & stock picks?
· How to have a competitive edge using online trading?
· Where should we be putting our money?
· When should we be safeguarding our money and when should we be investing?

I got a lesson in our own Malaysia KLSE stocks on how it’s driven and what was the cause of the first two global financial crisis that trigger the recession. Also along with good news that the Dubai crisis and the Vietnam currency issue will not be big enough to make another crisis than what we have just recovered from. Good thing I learn about this talk I get exposed on the important issue of researching and to see the charts and time it just right when to buy the stocks to get a better return in your investment. I also got exposed to new apps that helps the analysis of a shares. They are of course from Next View who was there to show the apps and Chart Nexus which I got from a fellow investor there for the talks. But best of all is of course is the stocks tips they give of what to buy and hold for the next coming months and even years. I get to know so much from the talks and I’m already looking forward to another one by Maybank Investment Market Chat 09 this January 2010.

Subang Jaya Doing The Lockdown

December 2, 2009 mreez Leave a comment

Finally MPSJ is doing something about the long running problems of car double parking in Subang especially the Taipan Business area. The problem have go on long enough and its about time the authority did something, even if its just a tag. A summon lockdown tag is introduced where the car at fault will have a tag fixed on the side mirror in what appears to be a bright yellow in color. No doubt easily to distinguish on the road.

The parking fine costs RM80 and the fine for those trying to remove it illegally is RM1000. Smart enough that they keep track of the cars that they are issuing the summons to. Let’s just hope that they enforce this move because I support it completely. Here’s hoping the coming next few months, errant drivers will think twice before double parking their vehicles!
