Yesterday I went for the first time the PC Expo 2012 at Midvalley Exhibition Center to buy my long overdue Western Digital Passport 1TB. The PC Expo is not as big as the familiar PIKOM PC Fair but to me it serves no difference. The price remains the same the only difference is probably the number of shops set up is less and that the place is crowded and cramp since it’s a bit small. But I did came out from the place a happy man since last month I didn’t get to buy the hard disk at PC Fair due to the credit card terminal being down so I end up empty handed. But this time around I got my stuff and something a bit extra. The price for the Western Digital Passport 1TB remains the same on offer at RM349 with a free pouch. But this time just by liking their page in Facebook I got myself  a free 16GB thumb drive FREE OF CHARGE. Awesome. Best day ever!

Well it’s been a while since I blog just about anything at all but now well, now my work is a bit less hectic than usual (though the stress is still there), I can now devote myself on blogging again. Anyway June is coming up and for the runners out there, you know that is the month for the Standard Chartered KL Marathon. Myself I have done squat for it. I have not start practicing running and I have not worked out for a month now. Yeah it pretty much sum up my life, busy with work, always tired and didn’t do much on the losing weight or exercising area. Hopefully starting June, will be a different story for me…we shall see…

As some of you have know, Adidas will have the KOTR 2012 yet again and this time around will be on the 9th September 2012 which is after the fasting month and plenty of time for a quick recovery on the stamina and long rest from exercise due to the holy month of ramadhan and hari raya. Anyway early bird price is RM40 for the 10K and the other, RM50 for the 16.8K run. So for those who were waiting for the registration of this run head on down to http://adidaskingoftheroad.com/my/

Remember the time when I mentioned that I went to Linux for my HP Mini (EasyPeasy). I mentioned how I did that through my blog http://mreez.wordpress.com/2011/08/09/radical-change-for-my-hp-mini-1000-from-windows-to-linux/ last year. Well it turns out, though Easy Peasy is good enough to be an OS for my HP Mini, I still find some limitations and had to settle back to Windows. But instead of using Windows XP that comes with the HP Mini, I tried using Windows 7 Professional instead and well I love it. Installation was a breeze and was surprise that I didn’t have to install any drivers for the HP Mini. So once I settled in with Windows 7, my mini works perfectly fine! Now I’m okay to let it be as it is, since both me and my wife are familiar with Windows so we both can use this netbook at home :D The only thing I need now to complete my HP Mini transformation is the PRAM Battery for the CMOS which has unfortunately died and probably have to replace my netbook battery as well. Guess that will have to come later!

As mentioned it took me 2 days to complete Catching Fire and it took me slightly longer to finish the final book Mockingjay. And just like the movie and the 2nd book I love how the story goes. And when ending the book, I was craving for the last two adaption to be in the movie as soon as possible. My imagination was running wild when I read the book and how much I would like to say the whole thing played out in the movie. The first part of the movie comes close as possible with the book and I’m sure they won’t veer far with part 2 and 3. It’s official, I’m a total fan of Hunger Games and a firm favorite of Peeta and Katniss romance, which awkwardly their couple paring is named Peeniss :) lol. How funny is that? So want to find out what I think of the final installment of Hunger Games? Read on! Spoiler alert if you continue on reading though….

I have to admit it, before the movie was released I have no idea what’s the story was about nor was I eager to watch the movie. But I did watch the movie and though I never read the book, I am now hooked on it and totally love the Hunger Games trilogy. Straight away after the movie, I just had to know what will happen next thus I went to Borders and grab myself part 2: Catching Fire and part 3: Mockingjay just to find out. I’m hooked on it, I love the characters especially Peeta and Katniss themselves. One who is in love with her and would do anything to protect her and the other was more or less trying to ensure her and her family survival including those she loves but somehow got pulled in, to be a sense of hope and symbol for a rebellion she didn’t mean to start in the first place. Granted the kids killing kids in Hunger Games was a bit brutal but the story itself, fighting oppression, surviving and figthing for their lost humanity because of the games is compelling and attracts me to this trilogy. It’s not like the lovey dovey Twilight, there’s so much more in Hunger Games than I anticipated and expected. Spoiler alert if you continue reading….

This is another excellent song from another excellent artist from the recording company that brought you Maher Zain. The song is about the Haj which something I never expected a song be done on. But it’s excellent nevertheless and the tune is soft, pleasing and superb. Check it out!

Waiting For The Call by Irfan Makki

Miles away, oceans apart
Never in my sight always in my heart
The love is always there it will never die
Only growing stronger a tears rose down my eye

I am thiking all the time
When the day will come
Standing there before you
Accept this Hajj of mine

Standing in ihram, making my tawaf
Drinking blessings from your well
The challenges that I have suffered
And might were rekindles my imaan

O Allah! I am waiting for the call
Praying for the day when I can be near the Kabah wall
O Allah! I am waiting for the call
Praying for the day when I can be near the Kabah wall
I feel alive and I feel strong
I can feel Islam running through my Veins
To see my muslim brothers, their purpose all the same
Greeting one another, exalting one True Name
I truly hope one day that everyone’s a Muslim.
That they remember you in everything they say

Standing in ihram making my tawaf, making my tawaf
Drinking blessings from your well
The challenges that I have suffered
And might were rekindles my imaan

O Allah! I am waiting for the call
Praying for the day when I can be near the Kabah wall
O Allah! I am waiting for the call
Praying for the day when I can be near the Kabah wall

I would like to share my love for this song. This song does the trick for me. Everytime when I’m down, feel stressed out, lost hope, face a dead end in something I do and even angered by something or someone, this song soothes me down and sometimes made me sad as it is so beautiful and meaningful lyrics that anyone can relate to. I don’t know but  when I listen to this song just like what it say’s in the lyrics there’s always a road, there’s always a way as long as you still have faith. Insha allah :)

Insya Allah by Maher Zain

Every time
You feel like you cannot go on
You feel so lost and that you’re so alone
All you see is night
And darkness all around
You feel so helpless you can’t see which way to go
Don’t despair
And never lose hope
‘Cause Allah is always by your side

Chorus:
Insha Allah
Insha Allah
Insha Allah
You’ll find your way

Every time
You commit one more mistake
You feel you can’t repent and that it’s way too late
You’re so confused
Wrong decisions you have made
Haunt your mind and your heart is full shame
But don’t despair
And never lose hope
Coz Allah is always by your side

Chorus

Turn to Allah
He’s never far away
Put your trust in Him
Raise your hands and pray
Ya Allah
Guide my steps, don’t let me go astray
You’re the only one who can show me the way
Show me the way
Show me the way
Show me the way

InshaAllah
InshaAllah
InshaAllah
We’ll find the way

A view of Grand Lexis, PD next door

Well here’s a continuation to my excellent vacation with my wife in PD. It’s been a while since I’ve been there and what better way than to celebrate our first year anniversary to a nostalgic area like PD.  It was a relaxing and stress free 3 days which we thoroughly enjoyed and wouldn’t mind going there again one day. But most probably next year will be a different location other than PD for us to try, insyaallah :)

Morning View From Our Room

It’s my first year anniversary and I’m totally excited to go on holiday with my wife, even if it’s only for three days! Just as long as I get a few days away from the busy city, my job and KL to the seaside and relaxing Port Dickson for a start. For those unfamiliar, Port Dickson is located in Negeri Sembilan just an hour 10 minutes drive or 88 kilometers away from Selangor. With so many things on my mind, I needed to clear my head, rest and unwind so this trip is a great welcome and just what I needed right now. So to celebrate my first year wedding anniversary, we decided to try the Lexis Port Dickson, formerly known as The Legend Water Chalets. I’ve got myself the 3 days, 2 nights deal from their Internet website at http://www.lexispd.com and I was lucky a bit to book the deal before the price was raised due to the peak hour nature and school holidays. To me it was a great deal as it comes with two breakfast buffets and a complimentary dinner set for two as well.
