Well I know I’ve been away for quite sometime but well I am back now and ready for 2012. And to start it off well is updating that the Standard Chartered KL Marathon 2012 have been confirmed to be held in June 24th 2012. And true to it’s words, the registration will be starting soon probably sometime end of this month. The website is out and we will just have to wait for the countdown or the launch of the registration site. For details you can check out their Facebook Page or go to http://www.kl-marathon.com/. Well I’m sure most of the runner’s of We Run KL 2011 have received an email notification notifying them that the first 500 runners who finished the run at We Run KL 2011 that email back to his email address: POSTRACE@WERUNK10K.COM with their IC no, contact number, size and the name they wish to print (6 letters only) will get a free Finisher Tee from Nike.  Well for my case, I didn’t the email until after I notice it on their NikeRunningMY facebook page in which I instantly mail them as soon as I saw it. Well thinking I may be too late, I decided well it’s just not my luck and just forgot about it until yesterday when I received this email notification:

So apparently I got the Tee (and yeah it took me 1 hour 20 minutes to finish the run but I guess I am among the 500) and well next week I will have to collect it from Nike @Pavillion. Why couldn’t it be this week? Since I am in a SAP training at Komplex Antarabangsa which is only 5 mins away compared to 10 to 15 mins away from KLCC. Just my luck I guess, got the tee but wrong timing for collection. Guess next week I will have to walk there to collect it.

For some reason I haven’t write about KLCC park which is the park that I ran in the most after office hours. Anyway’s what I love about the park is it’s simplicity. The park is a public park, just opposite Suria KLCC mall and about 1.3km per round. What I love about this one is similar to that of Taman Metropolitan which is the jogging track that’s rubberized for the runner’s safety. Though it can get slippery when it rains. The feature of the park is plain and simple, surround by tree’s and scenery, the place is a great place to run especially when the weather is great. And with a view of KLCC towers the view is just great. The track itself incorporates both flat, and hilly sections which helps the jogger’s or runner’s to give a slight challenge during their jog/run. My only complaint about this track though is the various tourist strolling around on the jogging track. Had to dodge a few of them here and there during the run. And when you reach the bridge in the middle of it all, that’s where a swarm of them are taking pictures so be careful. In all, I love the park and love running on it when I have the time after office hours. I’m sure anyone will too.

Well for those unaware of this, which I don’t think there’s many, today is the first day of the final PC Fair for 2011. So head on down to KL Convention Center today until Sunday as I myself who will be doing a surveying today (the many perks of working at KLCC) before deciding on which printer to buy on Sunday for our home. My goal for this PC Fair is fairly simple since I’m only interested in purchasing a printer while at the same time doing some research for possibly a new laptop I’m planning to get sometime next year and also checking out the best price and DSLR camera for an entry level user like me. Well see you there!

Well finally my running season is over with Nike we run KL run. And I have to say the run was awesome. The route is simple just nice and perfect with only a little elevation towards the end of the run, nice weather, and plenty of water station for the run. This time around I think Nike did a great job on the event and I have no complaints whatsoever. The event entertainment was also equally good with Mizz Nina blasting her only two hit single that I know of and Joe Fizzow also made an appearance there though I didn’t get to see that one. Anyway’s at the end of it all, I have a 1GB nicely design thumb drive as a token for my participation in the run that was fully booked in four days. For those who didn’t get to go, try next year if there’s one. Couldn’t believe that it took 17 minutes for South Korea (I think) run to be fully booked. Anyway I managed a 1 hour 30 minutes walk most of the time and run at some point. Well like I said my running days are over for 2011….will be looking forward to start running in events again starting 2nd quarter of 2012.

Can’t make it to the Race Pack Collection to collect your race pack? Simply print out the letter of authorisation to enable someone to collect on your behalf. Click here to download the form. 

The person collecting your race kit on your behalf should provide:
1) Your confirmation slip AND Photocopy of your ID front and back AND
2) A letter of authorisation signed by you, authorising the collection. 

Indemnity Form (For participants under 18 years old)
Participants under the age of 18 will be required to present a waiver/indemnity form signed by a parent or guardian. The form must be submitted upon collection of race pack.

Well here’s another update about the LRT extension project though its more about the residence of Putra Heights concerns of the LRT extension project being built on unstable ground. The concerns are valid and they just want the assurance from Prasarana in black and white that it is indeed safe to built the rail on that ground. We don’t want another disaster now do we? This guy is now my inspiration. I mean come out he was freaking fit but just to prove it’s possible he ate a lot and became fat just to prove that it’s possible to lose all that fat and become fit again. Sheesh I don’t seem to make sense with that sentence. Okay let’s start over, the guy I’m talking about is Drew Manning a personal trainer who took a bold step of getting fat within the course of 6 months so that he can lose all that weight he gained in another 6 months. This guy earns my respect and I’ll be sure to follow his progress of getting fit. I mean what is more example I can use than this guy who is as tall as me but slightly overweight than me. But ultimately our goal is the same now, which is to become fit! For him he was fit before, for me well I haven’t which is why I want this as much as he does.
