It seems like it was just yesterday that it was announced that Malaysia is embarking and committed on the third LRT project simply dubbed LRT3. Ground works are already in place, and early in April 2017 WCT have clinched the contract for the depot at Johan Setia. So it’s no longer planning and talking, actions have taken place and work has commenced. Here’s the article from The Star: WCT Secures RM189mil LRT3 Depot Contract.
And just recently again, LRT3 project has now gained momentum. And part of it, is the LRV or Light Rail Vehicle itself. Prasarana Malaysia Bhd has awarded the Light Rail Vehicle (LRV) work package valued at RM1.56 billion to CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive Co Ltd (CRRC ZELC) – Siemens Limited China – Tegap Dinamik Sdn Bhd consortium for the Light Rail Transit (LRT3) project. The consortium will be responsible for the design, manufacture, supply, delivery, installation, testing and commissioning of 42 six-car LRVs for the LRT3 project. Now, why I am so in to this project LRT 3 is because it connects the already huge LRT line to Klang and along the way, one of the LRT station is a few minutes away from my family apartment. Now everyone know if there’s a public transport like this LRT station, situated near your property, your property market value may eventually rise due to it’s strategic location and perhaps demand. So due to this I too am keen to see what added values and benefit my family apartment will be bestowed upon. So the one I’m keeping my eye open on is Station 11 – Persiaran Hisamudin which is also integrated with the planned BRT Federal Line. Now the BRT Federal Line is another story which I will get into another time.
Now the station will be near but not directly at my apartment doorstep, which is a good thing. Imagine the noise from the LRT.
