It came to my attention that the more running events and sports activity I participate in, the more my needs change when it comes to my fitness watch. I was fine with Misfit Shine 2, since I need to track my steps, record my runs and swim before syncing to the apps and to other apps like MyFitnessPal. The problem though for me was tracking my runs or cycling where I need to bring my phone along with me and had to strap it in place on my arm. So I needed an alternative solution to this and I thought yeah now is the right time for me to get a real smart watch. And my sights are on the new Garmin Forerunner 645 Music. Since the watch does not track multi sport (like triathlon), for those Ironman athletes this is not the right watch.
Now I didn’t want the Music version but apparently Malaysia only bring that version in. And I thought about it and it’s pretty neat that I can store music on my watch so when I go on the run, I will only need my watch and a bluetooth headphones. No more phones to be carried since Forerunner 645 also automatically sync to my favorite fitness tracking apps Strava aside from others like MyFitnessPal which are part of my so called “health eco-system”. Misfit Shine 2 is a sleek and unique smart watch but I guess it’s time to part ways but it was a great entry level smart watch. So is it a good time to upgrade? And is the Forerunner 645 a good choice? Do share your comments.
